The purpose of this blog is for its members to read through the entire Bible. We are all using the Daily Bible: in Chronological Order by F. Lagard Smith. We are starting and ending with the story of Jesus. Those who participate write a one sentence summary of what they learned about God and, if in the Old Testament, how the reading points to Jesus. Happy reading everyone!

Jesus is the Rising Sun who entered our world to shine God's light and save us from our sin. What a beauty!
As Zechariah prophesied, God has raised up a horn of salvation through Jesus Christ. God himself came down to us to be our Savior. I am looking forward to celebrating the birth of baby Jesus born in a manger.
Mary must have been terrified of the angel and ashamed of the way she would be viewed in society, but she still obeyed and rejoiced in the responsibility God gave her.
I was struck by all of the praises to God in this passage. Indeed, God is worthy of our praise, especially for his grace to bring us salvation through the Son.
Our Savior Jesus and John the Baptist came in accordance to the obedience of Zechariah, Elizabeth, Joseph and Mary. Mary's situation and prayer to God specifically were really beautiful.
In Mary and Zechariah's words of praise, they are able to put themselves in perspective to God. They put aside a human perspective and rejoice in the freedom that God gives to them. Praise God the redeemer of his people.
The Incarnation was possible through one girl willing to allow the Holy Spirit to come upon her and the power of the Most High to overshadow her.
